Nova Scotia announced six new cases of COVID-19 today, Tuesday, August 3. The cases tested positive over the four previous days.
Three of the new cases are in Nova Scotia Health’s Central Zone — one is related to travel, one is a close contact of a previously announced case, and the third is under investigation. One of the Central Zone cases is a boy or man 19 years old or younger; the other two are men aged 60-79.
One of the new cases is in the Northern Zone and is related to travel; it is a man aged 60-79.
Two of the new cases are in the Western Zone; both are related to travel and both are men aged 60-79.
There are now 12 known active cases in the province. One person is in hospital with the disease, and that person is in ICU.
As the new daily case count and active caseload graphs are pretty much straight lines at or near zero, I will no longer post them.
Vaccination
A total of 15,259 doses of vaccine were administered over the last four days (Friday through Monday). So far, a total of 1,360,660 doses of vaccine have been administered, of which 620,557 were second doses. As of end of day yesterday, 76.2% of the entire population has received at least one dose of vaccine, and 63.9% has received two doses.
Of those eligible to be vaccinate (those 12 years old and older), 86.3% have received at least one dose, while 72.4% have received two doses. That’s a rough estimate on my part, using my best guestimate of population age cohorts.

People 12 years old and older can also book a vaccination appointment here.
People in rural areas who need transportation to a vaccine clinic should contact Rural Rides, which will get you there and back home for just $5. You need to book the ride 24 hours ahead of time.

Nova Scotia Health labs completed the following number of PCR tests:

• 2,407 Saturday
• 1,987 Sunday
• 1,607 Monday
You do not need a health card to get tested.
Pop-up testing (antigen testing) is for asymptomatic people over 16 who have not been to the potential COVID exposure sites (see map below); results usually within 20 minutes. Pop-up testing has been scheduled for the following sites:

You can volunteer to work at the pop-up testing sites here or here. No medical experience is necessary.
